This survey is aimed at researchers who reuse images from iDAI.objects/Arachne in their publications. Our goal is to better understand current practices for citing and referencing images in scholarly works. In particular, we are interested in how image credits are presented in publications, whether images are included in reference lists, and how publishers handle persistent identifiers (such as DOIs) and metadata for publications and image references.
The results will help the CiVers project explore how images and other web-based resources can be cited in a more consistent and machine-readable way. This includes assessing whether richer metadata and persistent identifiers could improve the discoverability, traceability, and reuse of research materials.
The survey contains 10 short questions and should take about 3–5 minutes to complete. Your responses will help us better understand community practices and needs regarding image citation in scholarly publishing. Participation is voluntary and anonymous, and responses will be used only for research purposes within the CiVers project.
